About an hour’s drive away, Turin<\/strong> is definitely worth a visit-the first Capital of Italy<\/strong> to celebrate 150 years since the Unification of Italy in 2011 and was the site of the Winter Olympic Games<\/strong> in 2006.<\/p>\n\n

If you are visiting Turin for the first time, it is a must to walk through its ancient part. You can start from Palazzo Madama<\/strong>, the Teatro Regio<\/strong>, the Royal Palace <\/strong>(royal palace of the Savoy family until 1865), theRoyal Armory<\/strong> and the Museum of the Risorgimento<\/strong> with original parliament from the 1800s <\/p>\n\n

Not far away, along the Po, is the Valentino Castle<\/strong>, with its refined French-style geometries, surrounded by the park of the same name. <\/p>\n\n

For the best views of the city and surrounding mountains, nothing beats a thrilling ascent to the top of the Mole Antonelliana<\/strong>, aboard the panoramic elevator with transparent walls also home to the Cinema Museum<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

This elegant building is somewhat of a symbol of the city. With its height of 167.5 meters, it is the second tallest building in Italy. <\/p>\n\n

On the cultural side, you cannot miss a visit to the Egyptian Museum<\/strong> as well as the MAO museum of oriental art<\/strong>, opened in 2009 in Palazzo Mazzonis.<\/p>\n\n

Just a few kilometers away is Venaria Reale<\/strong>, declared a UNESCO World Heritage<\/strong> Site, is at the center of the circuit of the Royal Residences of Piedmont.<\/p>\n\n
