For the first time an Italian wine-growing landscape, the Piedmont landscape of Langhe Roero and Monferrato, is recognized as being of exceptional value by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee<\/a> and inscribed on the World Heritage List.<\/p>\n\n

Credit is first and foremost due to the great beauty<\/strong> of our territories, but also to all those who have worked these lands for generations with respect, pride and passion.<\/p>\n\n

The motivation says that these landscapes <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

\n

are an outstanding living testimony to the historical tradition of grape growing, winemaking processes, and a social, rural context and economic fabric based on wine culture.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

The vineyards of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato are also an outstanding example of man’s interaction with his natural environment<\/strong>: thanks to a long and constant evolution of techniques and knowledge about viticulture, the best possible adaptation of vines to the characteristics of the soil and climate has been achieved, so much so that they have become an international benchmark.<\/p>\n\n

We can only be proud of such recognition and the terms in which it was expressed.<\/p>\n\n

You can admire the wine-growing villages<\/strong>, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from our panoramic terrace <\/strong>while sipping a glass of Barbaresco or dining at our Restaurant<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Selected areas<\/h2>\n\n

The selected areas<\/strong> as a whole cover an area of about 76 thousand hectares and involve more than 100 municipal areas<\/strong>. Within them the six components mentioned are, in more detail: <\/p>\n\n

Barolo Langa<\/span>Barbaresco Hills<\/span>Castle of Grinzane Cavour<\/span>Canelli and Asti Spumante<\/span>Nizza Monferrato and the Barbera<\/span>Monferrato of the Infernot<\/span><\/p>\n\n

There are 50 Italian sites included by UNESCO on the World Heritage List, the first being in’79. You can view www.unesco.org<\/a> for the complete list. <\/p>\n\n
