The castles located in Langhe and Roero are one of the unique feature of this landscape. Atop the hills that host the villages of southern Piedmont, these castles have contributed for centuries to the image and identity of each municipality and the whole region.
Some of them boast an outstanding architectural style and interiors with original furnishings of exquisite workmanship, such as to be considered as striking examples from an historical and artistic point of view. They are therefore historic symbols of the local communities, and testify the architecture and art from the Middle Ages onwards.
The castles of Langhe and Roero, which are visited annually by tens of thousands of Italian and foreign tourists, are a milestone in the discovery and experience of this region.
At 30 km. the Castle of Racconigi www.ilcastellodiracconigi.it is the most shining example of the magnificence of the Savoy royal house; its park was voted as the most beautiful in Italy in 2010.
