A “museum” exhibition: 65 paintings by Felice Casorati, forty of which from the collections of museums as well as national and international institutes.
The Fondazione Ferrero of Alba and the GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino, in collaboration with the Soprintendenza per i Beni Storici, Artistici ed Etnoantropologici del Piemonte, prepare to pay tribute to Felice Casorati (1883 – 1963) with a vast anthology that you can admire at the Fondazione Ferrero, in Alba, from the 25 October 2014 to the first of February 2015.
Felice Casorati. Collections and exhibitions from Europe to the Americas − curated by Giorgina Bertolino, co-author of the General Catalogue of paintings by the artist – is an exhibition dedicated to the research, public history and international reception of Casorati’s painting, from the 1910s to the 1950s.
Forty of the sixty-five paintings that will be presented in the halls of the Fondazione come from museums as well as national and international institutions. Some, bought and removed from Italy in the first decade of the 1900s, represent for today’s public some very unknown expositions.
By staying at the Hotel i Castelli you can reach the Fondazione Ferrero in a few minutes as well as the historical center of Alba for a walk along the characteristic streets.
In the evening, don’t miss the occasion to dine in our panoramic restaurant while admiring the towers of Alba, and the vineyard landscapes, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site this year.
